Pound an almond, and the clear white colour will be altered into a dirty one, and the sweet taste into an oily one. What real alteration can the beating of the pestle make in any body, but an alteration of the texture of it?

Double meanings and dualities create a kind of vibration in the painting and image. It is the back and forth that vibrates—between light and dark, front and back, transparent and opaque.

How to see your consciousness outside yourself and then depict it? Compression and fragmentation as a means, or as inevitable side-effect.

A lake and a wall, a gate and cloud—incompatible forms in a momentary truce. Symbolism as compression, as a shorthand for depth. Flat panels of color, graphic shapes layering both references and figures. How many paintings are hidden underneath the one we see?

There's no end to what this flatness can bring into its frame. Infinitum actu non datur / the infinite's potential to exist.
